Complete Chaos

Brian says I need to write more and he's telling me that because that's what I say to him. haha.

So here I am writing more.

We're about 1-2 weeks away from setting off on our summer adventure the second year living aboard our sailboat.
There are so many things that need to be done yet it's a bit overwhelming.

If I look around me right now what I'm seeing is…

power tools in the kitchen

our food storage on the couch

a slew of fasteners, and boat parts on our chart table

And it’s been similar to this for months. Months!
…it is what it is.

But if I take a closer look,

hidden among the chaos is… progress.

For all of these things to be easily accessible where they are, it means that progress is happening.

Progress on the boat.

Progress in our relationship.

Progress in our minds.

I keep seeing quotes that say something along the lines of…

“If you have dirty dishes in the sink, be grateful because that means that you were able to feed your family.”

”If I have a pile of laundry that needs to get done, be grateful because that means that you have clothes and clothing options.”

So while I'm looking at the state of the boat (my home), I have to say I'm grateful.

I'm grateful to have this mess because it means that we're doing something and not only that, but we're doing something meaningful.

I'm completely overwhelmed.

BUT the overwhelm is a sign of how many things I have going on in my life and for every one of those things… I'm so grateful.

I’ve been here before, this isn’t my first rodeo.

We can get through this.
